Graco Victoria Non Dropside Convertible Crib

Now that we know we are expecting a little girl, let the shopping begin!

I really want white furniture. I think a nice calm color of paint, and a fun and colorful bedding would make for a nice nursery. You know, a clean yet inviting look. Something that will stimulate our daughter, but also grow with her. Because we certainly are not made out of money!

But I just didn't know where to begin. Our good friend Lola, works with my OB/GYN and is an intern. She works a lot with pediatrics and knows all about the latest recalls and such. Which is so good for me!

I'm at a loss with all these crib recalls. So I know that I don't want a drop down side crib. But after looking at the prices of cribs, I want a convertible crib. Enter in this crib. The Graco Victoria. And it seems like a very nice and safe crib.

Do you see how cute this crib is? I really like the detailing on the top and bottom. And it's something that has nice detail, but is neutral enough to use for our future kids.

And since we plan to wait a few years for our next baby, this crib converts into a toddler bed. You can raise and lower the mattress too! A good deal for $275!

But that's not all! Later on, we can turn it into a full sized bed. I think this is a good deal. And I really do like this crib. But we're not going to buy it just yet. I need to find the changing table and drawers to match. Which is a lot more difficult than I thought!

Our Love Story

My hubby and I are not your typical love story. We actually didn't like each other when we first met. We met in college. He was a few years ahead of me. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we had the same class. It was all about nutrition. And it bored me to death. Drew felt the same way. Many days he and his friends, who always sat behind me and my friends, would sleep.

But we didn't like each other. We'd run into each other in our building. We were in in the same college, but pursuing different degrees. And every time I would see him in the computer lab, or the snack bar, he seemed annoyed with me. I wasn't too happy about seeing him either. Often he was covered in hay or dirt, because his classes where out in the fields.

In that same annoying nutrition class, I met my friend Lola. She is in a band. And she invited me to a concert that she was playing in. I didn't know what I was getting into. It was at that show that my entire life would change.

Drew is good friends with all the guys in the band. And he was there too. Before I knew it, the 2 of us were talking. And talk we did. All night long! Way past the end of the concert, we sat and talked. J invited everyone over to his house for a big bonfire. Drew and I went. That was the night, he stole my heart.

It was unexpected. I had, had a previously horrible relationship. And I was not looking for a new relationship. I didn't want one. But I found Drew. Or he found me. And that my friends, was the beginning of this love.

We endured the endless teasing of friends, classmates, and roommates. But Drew and I were just enjoying each other. We didn't care what people thought. Well, my hubby graduated last May. And J offered him a job. Which he happily accepted. Just so he could stay here. And be close to me. I still needed about 2 years on my degree.

That was in May 2009. Drew got his own place. And I stayed living with my roommate. Then in September, we took a trip to Las Vegas. Drew was working in Reno. And we just decided to go to Las Vegas for the night. We must have been feeling adventurous. Because we got married! At the Little White Chapel. And not more than a month later, we found out we were expecting. Don't tell my dad, but I was pregnant when we got married. I didn't know it at the time.

Isn't it crazy how things happen? We wanted kids. We just didn't know it was going to happen so quickly! And now that I look back on things, I'm glad we got married when and how we did. My hubby continued to travel with work until November. Then he asked J for a position that would keep him close to home. That was a blessing. I also took a break from college. This is the first semester I've been off.

Now I'm about 27 weeks. And we're so excited! This summer, we'll have a little one. To love and to hold. I honestly hope that our baby looks like my hubby. There are so many things I want to share with our little one. But most of all, I want to share our love.
